Oribe’s Latest Collection Addresses One Of The Most Common Hair Issues (2025)

Maybe you’ve noticed a few extra strands sticking to your hairbrush or seen more hair than usual going down the drain when you shower. No matter when you realize that hair loss is hitting you, it can be scary and isolating. But it’s a lot more common than you probably realize: Up to 40% of women will experience female pattern hair loss by age 50, according to the National Institute of Health, and by 35 two-thirds of American men will experience some degree of noticeable hair loss, according to the American Hair Loss Association.

That’s why Oribe is launching the new Densifying Collection. “We created the Serene Scalp Densifying Collection because we wanted to provide a luxury, elevated solution to a very widespread hair concern,” says Michele Burgess, Executive Director of Global Product Development at Oribe Hair Care. “There’s a big misconception that thinning hair only affects a certain demographic, but the reality is that it impacts people of all ages, genders and backgrounds due to a variety of factors. Our mission for this collection was to help those with thinning, fine or limp hair achieve thicker, fuller, denser-looking strands.”

The Densifying Collection consists of three products: Oribe Serene Scalp Densifying Shampoo and Conditioner, plus the leave-in Densifying Treatment Spray. “We recommend using all three products together as a consistent regimen to achieve the maximum benefits of the collection,” Burgess says. “The regimen should be used at least three times per week for the best results.” It’s also important to use the products continuously for three months and beyond to maintain results.

“We spent two years developing these formulations doing extensive testing on real consumers as well as clinical studies,” Burgess says. “We also brought on board-certified trichologist Penny James who specializes in scalp care and hair thinning solutions to help with the development and testing process to ensure the performance and efficacy of the formulations.”

Each product was carefully formulated to maximize results. The Serene Scalp Densifying Shampoo and Conditioner feature capixyl, a biomimetic peptide blended with red clover extract to strengthen the scalp to set the stage for fuller, thicker and healthier looking hair. There’s also redensyl to boost fullness and minimize shedding caused by breakage; pea sprout extract, which is loaded with phytonutrients to nourish brittle hair to reduce hair fall from breakage; and the Oribe Signature Complex with watermelon, lychee and edelweiss flower to protect hair from oxidative stress, photoaging and the decrease of natural keratin. The Densifying Treatment Spray also contains capixyl and pea sprout extract, as well as a densifying polymer for instant volume, body and improved density; biotin and niacinamide to strengthen the cuticle to help restore elasticity; and peppermint oil to bring balance and energy to the scalp.

“What's nice about the Densifying Treatment Spray is we don't just have our regrowth ingredients in it,” James says. “There are other wonderful ingredients in it. It's packed with nutrients. So, it's great for promoting scalp health too.” James applies it directly onto the scalp after shampooing and conditioning, lifting hair section by section, gently giving hair a little shake to disperse it and then massaging it in with fingers.

Though using the right shampoo and conditioner are key to dealing with hair loss, there are a few other lifestyle factors that should be considered as well. It’s important to eat a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of protein and nutrients, which are essential to hair growth. Stress can take its toll on hair, so manage stress levels with activities like yoga and meditation, and whatever else helps keep you calm. Thinning strands tend to be extra delicate; go easy on heat styling and always use a heat protectant, stick to gentle products, avoid sun damage by wearing a hat and skipping sun exposure at peak hours, and don’t wear hair pulled back too tightly frequently, which can put stress on the scalp.

Though many products made for thinning hair can be heavy and weigh it down, James said the Oribe Serene Scalp collection was designed to avoid those issues. “It's not going to make your roots oily,” she says. “Even the conditioner is light enough for super fine hair. It's all about esthetics of the hair looking gorgeous. The beauty of the products is they marry well together.” That’s why they work best as a team.

“At Oribe, we obsess over every detail of our products from the formula performance, aesthetic, fragrance and packaging,” Burgess says. “We want our consumers to experience an unparalleled level of quality and sophistication when they use our products, and this collection is no different. A customer with fine or thinning hair should be able to have that experience too.”
